A whole new world of Entertainment...

Overnight in the U.S. saw the release if a beautiful new range of iPod's released plus an all new Apple TV. In brief, iPod shuffle has been switched back to its a style similar to the version-before-last in its nice little square version, but now supports Playlists instead of completely random options. As before, in a luscious range of colours.

iPod Nano - gorgeous! 37.5mm x 40.9 mm and somehow with a multi-touch display?!! 8Gb or 16Gb, the new Nano is all screen. Amazing. So tiny now it really is totally portable whereas before the Nano, although amazing, wasn't really the kind of device you'd take to the gym or go running with or use every day as it was just that little bit too big. New Nano redefines portable music like nothing else on the planet.

iPod Touch has been on the outer for a while with no significant updates for some time. No longer! iPod Touch now gets the new Retina display of the iPhone 4 and camera with Facetime capable of recording HD Video. Size now up to 64Gb. It also features the A4 Processor meaning everything you do is incredibly fast and for gamers... there is nothing else like it.

Apple TV. We have been itching for Apple to do something here. Apple TV has not been pushed despite how brilliant it has been and how far ahead of its game it has been for years. By far the best movie rental home entertainment device out there. Well, it's just got better. Now served up in Gloss Black and featuring the A4 Procesor, its faster, smaller, sleeker and now loses its on-board hard drice as there is no need for it any more - therefore silent and will stream media form any compatible device on your network plus stream movies direct from the Apple Store of course. Apple TV, as before has 802.11n wireless and gigabit Ethernet plus Micro-USB. Size is a ridiculously small 9.91 cm square x 2.29 cm in height.

iTunes 10 Info
The new iPod range require features built into iTunes 10. iTunes 10 has JUST been released today so run System Preferences / Software Update to get it... then restart and you're ready-to-go.

Airplay
You'll be hearing a lot about Airplay in the coming months. For a while now, we have had Airport Express - connect speakers to one of these devices on your network and you can have music playing all around your house or play music in certain rooms and not others all controlled from iTunes. That's changing. Airplay is a new technology from Apple that is being built into AV receivers, speakers and heaps of accessories - NOW. Using iTunes 10, you'll be able to play your music straight into any of these devices without the need for any additional equipment. There are various partners on-board now with many more to come.

* The Cinema 27" LED Screen looks, just amazing. Those of you who know the iMac 27" will be familiar with it. This screen offers up a resolution of 2560x1440 - in plain speak, far higher resolution than a full-HD LED TV and at, what we expect, will be a lower price that such an equivalent - not that they even exist! 3 Powered USB 2 Ports, an incredible viewing angle of about 176 degrees vertically and horizontally, so despite its size, no colour drop-off anywhere is the field of view even if using 2 of these screens together on one Mac. Basically, a stunning screen. As soon as we have further info, it'll be here immediately.

Mac Pro delays

As published on our PodCasting service yesterday, there are a lot of outstanding orders - and by that I mean 'undelivered'(!) MacPro's on order with us./ Many are highly customised. Normally, they'd take 10-14 business days or thereabouts, but Apple Australia have yet to receive even the first batch of MacPro's from build according to their distributors, so there will be some delays. This is quite normal for this sort of release. Further news will follow to each customer individually as soon as we have specifics.

MacBook Pro Pricing Update

As of 10am this morning, we have seen another significant drop in the pricing of MacBook Pro 8Gb RAM upgrade pricing. Down now from $550 inc to $495 inc GST. We have immediately passed these onto you, complimenting the new iMac memory price-drop we also immediately adopted last week.

If you are considering buying a MacBook Pro for anything creative, video / audio production or CS5 work, this is great news for you. Pricing may not last due to some instability globally economically, but until then, all is good!

Huge Memory Price drops for new iMac

At just after midday today, large pricedrops have been seen i the memory market. This may only be temporary, but at any rate, we have updated our website immediately - savings are massive with customised iMacs with the full 16Gb of RAM down fro $1290 to a mere $880 all inc.

New Mac Pro Announced

The long anticipated major update to MacPro is looming. There are no dates as yet, but the U.S. will be getting an official release in 'August'.. the Australian market 'Coming Soon'. The second we have product codes and pricing, as always, the will be on our website immediately.

It's a massive update and guaranteed to be huge in terms of sales. The power and performance increases speak for themselves. Here's a basic summary of the new MacPro.

  • Quad Core Version - 2.8Ghz or 3.33Ghz Xeon X3530, Turbo Boost up to 3.06Ghz, Radeon HD5770 with 1Gb GDDR5 - 2 Mini Displayport Outputs and 1 Dual Link DVI
  • 8 Core ( 2 x Quad Core) Version - 2 x 2,4Ghz Xeon ES620 'Westmere' Processors upgradeable to 2.93Ghz with additional Turbo Boot technology and other options to 3.33Ghz 2 x 6 Core. Various Graphics card options
  • All MacPro's now have a standard 512Gb SSD Option plus other custom options offered by ZeroThree using Photofast G-Monster SSD's and 15,000rpm drive options.

All great here at ZeroThree today - Darren will be back today after 3 weeks out and about on holiday. All is good on the Mac front with all Macs in good availability and all of the new iMac range also available.

iMac Special Bundles and Stock

Just released this morning literally at the crack of dawn, our new iMac with AppleCare bundles. You can find them all in the 'Bundles and Promo's' section. These are special bundles offered as standard build Macs only with AppleCare added saving you even more. There are some customisations allowed, but not Processor or Graphics card or hard drive upgrades. RAM upgrades are fine.

If you do want to customised your Mac, please order via the iMac page instead where all options are available.

Stock on all standard Macs is fine, so delivery usually 1-3 days but does of course vary depending on exact stock at the time of your order, so please do call to check if you are on a tight schedule!

Stock on most iMacs is now available. Customised orders wil of course be subject to their usual wait times. Stock is variable as always, so if you need your shiny new iMac immediately, call first to get up-to-the-minute stock levels.
